The recent completion of the new hotel is ready to host events and conferences on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida. General Contractor Moss & Associates ran the new construction for the new hotel with two restaurants, a spa, and 166 rooms. They “all have magnificent views of the 300-ft. private beach, which faces Sand Key across an inlet and looks toward the Gulf of Mexico.” – visitstpeteclearwater.com. The architect Baker Barrios Architects specified space division solutions in the ballrooms and pre-function space. We were able to provide the following:
- Ballroom: (2) Modernfold Encore Single Panel System 54 STC rating
- Junior Ballroom: (2) Modernfold Encore Single Panel System 54 STC rating
- Prefunction Space: (2) Modernfold Acousti-Clear Single Panel System 45 STC rating
The design team at Baker Barrios wanted to provide the best flexible space for the owners in the Ballrooms so they could maximize the number of events and guests they can host. Being able to run the spaces efficiently. Large open space – with heights up to 16′ high. We were able to provide the premium Encore Series to provide an optimal 54 STC rating to keep sound from transferring through the partition when multiple events are taking place at once.
One of the key design concepts of this project was to maintain the daylight and views of the Gulf Coast. We were able to assist with providing operable glass walls at the front of the pre-function space. Giving the customer the flexible space needed to provide acoustical separation when needed for different events while maintaining the views that the end user would love to see while visiting.
The ballrooms for this hospitality project were located on the 6th floor in a crowded downtown location, which had logistical complications. Our trained and certified installers were able to handle the communication and logistics with ease to hoist our panels to the sixth floor.
Another interesting aspect of this project was the timing. This project was being installed during a critical period in the operable partition industry. There was a sudden market consolidation.
